WINDHOEK – The managing director of Nedbank Namibia Erastus Hoveka has resigned, and will vacate his office on September 30. “The Board of Directors of Nedbank Namibia Limited wishes to announce that it has taken a considered decision to grant the incumbent, Erastus Hoveka, his wishes of pursuing other interests and, as a consequence, relinquish his position at the bank,” a statement from the bank said.

The bank said it would, in the intervening period, take “all steps necessary to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities with the most capable assistance of the Executive Committee under the leadership of the Deputy Managing Director, Lionel Matthews.”

“We wish to thank Mr Hoveka for his confident leadership and strategic vision in service to Nedbank for over six years and wish him only the very best in his future endeavours,” said Advocate Theo Frank, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The board assured that it is supremely confident that the current management and risk mitigation structures at the bank are robust and thoroughly tested to ensure seamless business continuity and sustained investor confidence.
