WALVIS BAY – Former Namibian footballer Congo Hindjou has opened a tracking, security and fleet management business. Hindjou co-owns the Namibian SafeSky Namibia at Walvis Bay, in partnership with SafeSky Africa, a South African company that is owned by South African football legend Jomo Sono.

SafeSky Namibia has been operational for the last six months with branches in Walvis Bay and Windhoek. The company is planning to expand its services to the northern and southern regions of the country.

Hindjou, who also manages SafeSky Namibia, says the company offers customers a one-stop security, surveillance and air charter service tailored to suit everyone’s individual needs.  The company aims to reduce reckless driving on national roads, speeding, fuel theft and the misuse of company vehicles by staff, as well as vehicle tracking and fleet management through its highly trusted services.

“What makes our services and structural products unique in Southern Africa is that we do not outsource any of our services, but all units function from a centrally located sophisticated infrastructure, with specialised and trained staff that is 24 hours available. We also make use of MTC as our service provider through which we can reach all our clients in Namibia and within the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC),” he explained.

The company currently employs 25 permanent employees as call centre operators and qualified mechanics. The company also offers monitoring services to individuals, and are able to locate any person worldwide through their SOS function.

“I am very optimistic that we will employ more people in the near future as our services and client base increases. We cannot wait on the government alone to create jobs for our people. It is our responsibility as well to venture into businesses that will contribute to the country’s economy and at the same time reduce poverty and unemployment,” Hindjou explained.

“We are ready to provide our customers with the best solutions for optimizing and utilizing the fullest potential and performance of any operational resource and asset,” he said.

SafeSky Namibia will be officially launched by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Tjekero Tweya next week Thursday in Windhoek.
