A SOLO exhibition titled, Talk of Town by artist Hugo Lambrecht will be officially opened next Tuesday and will be on display until April 27 according to the National Art Gallery.
His acrylic paintings depict a surrealist approach to the Namibian landscape, its wildlife and the environment. Lambrecht combines a naturalistic, organic approach to the landscape, with his own inner vision. This places him in a different genre to artists such as Van Elinckhuizen and Keith Alexander, who have also interpreted Namibia surrealistically.
Lambrecht ‘s highly skilled works present the mythology and magic of the Namib Desert in a new light. His understanding of landscapes, textures and wildlife is impressive. It will be the first time in 20 years that the public will be able to view work due to an allergy to certain painting mediums.
