Former Ramblers soccer legend Raymond Dodds might not have the legs to carry him around a football pitch anymore – but the 79-year-old has lost none of his swing with the golf club.
Dodds showed his younger competitors a few tricks with the stick when he teamed up with J M Jannsen van Vuuren to claim 2nd spot in the C Division of the 3rd of four rounds of the Heineken Golf Tourney at the Windhoek Country Club, last weekend. The pair holed a combined nett of 135.
John Williams and Fanie van Zyl took honours in the A Division with a nett score of 69 each, while J M Jannsen van Vuuren returned the honour to his offspring when he teamed up with Jurie Engelbrecht to walk away with the first prize in the B Division. Van Vuuuren senior shot an amazing nett score of 63 on his way to victory.
