Castle Brewing Namibia (CBN) last week dismissed claims that the company’s launch of an Italian premium beer in Namibia recently was one of its swamping strategies to keep Namibia Breweries fenced in the country.

CBN belongs to South Africa’s SAB Miller, which dominates the Southern African beer market. SAB Miller produces about 26 million hectolitres of beer per annum and 30 percent of its profits come from the South African market.
Namibia Breweries has less than two percent of the South African market.
