A number of guest international speakers and artists feature in the programme of the Faith Convention of the Greater Love Ministries, which starts this weekend.
The convention, the 12th since the church started its first such gathering in 1995, will be held on the premises of Greater Love Ministries, commonly known as the Jesus Centre, in Okuryangava from September 28 to October 5.
Pastor Haruna Goroh told New Era yesterday the convention had grown in size since the first one in 1995, which was held in a shack made of black plastic sheeting.
The convention whose theme is “Kingdom Heritage” will provide practical ways on how to enjoy freedom. Goroh said many people were suffering despite the country achieving freedom more than a decade ago.
“We want to let people know that they have potential. We are independent and we can achieve economic freedom,” he said.
The topics to be presented at seminars that start at 09h00 include entrepreneurship, learning how to become self-reliant, the anatomy of marriage, how to sustain it and aspects relating to HIV/AIDS.
The crusades will start from 18h30.
Some of the speakers at the convention include South African-based Victor Williams, a young pastor who also plays the saxophone, Bishop Fred Ado from Nigeria, Bernard Nwaka from Zambia and a businessman and pastor from South Africa, Alth Lukau, who owns the Adonai TV and other enterprises.
Jamaican international artist Chevelle Franklyn and Zambian singer Ephrain Mutalange will also grace the convention. Goroh said the convention would start with a concert where local and international artists will feature.
Local artists include D Naff, VM 6, G3, Gazza, the Dogg, Sunny Boy and Jericho.
“We want to celebrate the first night with entertainment. It will also be a refresher for believers,” he said.
