WINDHOEK
The Minister of Education, Nangolo Mbumba, will this morning officially open the Southern and Eastern African Consortium for Monitoring Education Quality (SACMEC) in the capital with representatives from 20 countries attending.
This was announced in a press statement by his ministry.
Since 1990 UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) has been working with ministries of Education in Southern and Eastern Africa in order to undertake integrated research and training activities that will expand opportunities for educational planners to gain the technical skills required to monitor and evaluate the quality of their basic education systems, and generate information that can be used by decision-makers to plan and improve the quality of education.
