The Swapo Party secretary general, who is also Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana, has blamed Namibian journalists for not questioning those who were in charge of the Ministry of Trade and Industry at the time of the ODC N$100-million dubious investment deal.

She was speaking on Saturday at a Swapo Party campaign rally for local elections sche-duled for next month at Omuthiya.

Iivula-Ithana claimed that those who headed the Ministry of Trade
and Industry at the time neither commented nor were they asked by the media to state their position on the missing funds.

Iivula-Ithana warned people to be vigilant when joining the opposition because it consists of people who are not as clean as they seem.

Iivula-Ithana who is also a resident of Omuthiya, urged those who would be elected in the Omuthiya Local Authority to be honest and serve the nation and not to misuse Government resources.

She outlined some of the developments brought about by the Swapo Government for the Omuthiya community. She, however, bemoaned the long distances the people had to travel to access services in Tsumeb, which is 240ǟ
