At round about 8.30 last night all parties involved in negotiations in the NBC strike had agreed to the signing of a “substantive memorandum agreement” today, following the NBC management and board agreeing to the strikers’ full wage demands yesterday.

The strike would be suspended until tomorrow and workers had agreed to be back at their workstations today, but they have vowed to resume the strike if the agreed-on 6% increment and 9% hike backdated to 2003 are not in their bank accounts by tomorrow morning. New Era will report on further developments in its Friday edition.
