Brave Warriors goalkeeper Maximilian Mbaeva was among the biggest individual winners at the just-ended Cosafa Cup after the Namibian shot-stopper scooped the prestigious Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.

The Brave Warriors won the competition’s Plate trophy following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia on Friday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, and many would agree that he excelled and was very much instrumental in helping Namibia lift the Plate trophy.

The heroics of Mbaeva, who plies his trade with Lamontville Golden Arrows in the South African premiership, impressed many at this year’s Cosafa Cup and his outstanding displays were certainly a continuation of his fine season with Arrows.

Swaziland’s talisman Felix Badenhorst walked away with the Golden Boot award for his five goals, while Botswana’s Onkabetse Makgantai deservedly won the Player of the Tournament accolade and Lesotho was awarded the Team Fair Play.
