A twenty-five-year old man accused of killing his girlfriend of six years in Windhoek was arrested in Tsumeb late Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect fled the scene on Monday afternoon after killing his girlfriend at Otjomuise, in Beijing Street, where the couple lived together at the victim’s mother’s house. The police searched for the suspect by using a helicopter, and on foot, but were unsuccessful.

According to Khomas Regional Crime Investigation Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Sylvanus Nghishidimbwa, the suspect’s family at Tsumeb facilitated reporting and handing him over to the police.

Nghishidimbwa said the suspect will possibly appear today in the Katututra Magistrate’s Court.
The suspect allegedly killed his girlfriend by seemingly strangling her with electric wire, and stabbed her several times with a knife. It is alleged the victim, a security guard Janet !Haoses, was also bludgeoned with a hammer.
