From the slums of the town of Ongwediva in the northern part of the country hails the dancing group, Killer Stars, that many a time have left the crowd craving for more of their mind-blowing performances.

Killer Stars, now a common name in the entertainment sector in the northern regions, has six dancers. The group was formed in 2008.

“The name itself lives up to its description, which is highly metaphorical. It means that they are stage killers, which so far is what they have done and are doing everywhere they have been,” says their manager, Naftali Nghishekwa.

The group focusses on performance and doing the job better than most performers, thus entertaining the crowd to the max at events, such as weddings, gala dinners and shows of every kind.

Dancing and connecting with the crowd is their pre-occupation. Their performance caters for people of all ages and is spiced with a mixture of drama and comedy, something, which seems to be quickly endearing them to the public as a household name.

“The surprising part and what makes them even more interesting is tha, for Kwaitos and boys at the prime of their youth they’re surprisingly well-behaved, and off-stage drama is a word that cannot be associated with them,” says Nghishekwa.

What holds Killers Stars together is that they are like brothers with a shared love for one another and dancing. Despite the fact that they are from different households they treat one another as family and support each other in other aspects of their lives.
