Omaheke Regional Governor Festus Ueitele says he foresees youth enterprises sprouting up in the region, a remark he made during the opening of Pupkewitz MegaTech store at Gobabis on Wednesday.

“With innovation comes empowerment and with empowerment comes economic transformation and development that will improve the lives of many rural communities, who still do not have access to grid electricity and solar power services, which are a basic human rights,” says Ueitele.

He added that he looks forward to improved infrastructure that will lead to better services for each citizen, family, farmer, business, as well as the marginalised people and groups in the region, bearing in mind that they are located close to the Buitepos border post near Botswana on the Trans-Kalahari highway.

Ueitele said, with Pupkewitz MegaTech in town, development in Omaheke Region is inevitable.

Speaking at the same occasion, Pupkewitz MegaTech managing director Morne Nell said the opening of the Gobabis branch is a groundbreaking occasion, with business interests that spread across various industries.

“This is the first time the Pupkewitz Group sets foot in the Omaheke Region,” he said.

According to Nell, as the biggest electrical wholesaler in Namibia, the company aims to stimulate growth of the Namibian economy by reaching out to as many places as possible.

He said setting up a branch in Gobabis was the natural thing to do. Nell added that the company strives to embrace the latest technology relevant to the industry at every one of its business operations, as well as ensure competitive pricing.

“The company offers credit solution programmes to enable Small and Medium Enterprises to develop capacity and subsequently to partake in medium to large construction projects,” he added.

Pupkewitz MegaTech has in branches in Windhoek, Oshakati, Walvis Bay and now Gobabis.
