WINDHOEK

Due to popular demand, Goethe Centre presents Slickartie – live in concert on the Night Under The Stars (NUTS) stage tonight

There is a popular saying in the entertainment world, “Give the people what they want” and in keeping true to that saying, a true African son of the soil, Artwell Slickartie Neusu, or Slickartie as he’s come to be known on the Namibian music scene, is coming to you at NUTS. Slickartie has seen a rather meteoric rise in the industry, with a number of performances as well as collaborations with some of Namibia’s most in demand artists. Hailing from Chegutu, Harare in Zimbabwe and currently studying at the College of The Arts (COTA), in between he is making music, and featuring at some of Windhoek’s trendiest spots on a regular basis. From modest beginnings- armed with the vision of continuously challenging his creativity, “crazy in that buck sort of way” best describes his personality. A free spirited musician, artist, creator who usually calls his sets musical journeys because of his love for travelling, especially through music traversing through various countries and cultures while learning, and growing in his craft.

Slickartie, before breaking away on his solo musical journey, used to be a part of the Afro fusion band, Savannah Afros. However, these days he is no doubt every bit a live performer, and musician who works tirelessly to ensure that the different and very unique sound he brought to Namibia, keeps on changing and growing. A sound like no other, vocals that will leave you mesmerised and a presence that will have you enchanted. Above all, he is a creator and a storyteller!
