Windhoek
A man accused of swindling Namibians of their hard earned cash appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Simbarasihe Clive Mazuimavi, 27, stands accused of fraud for allegedly selling cars and demanding deposits but then vanishing without delivering the vehicle. He faces ten counts of fraud, and alternatively theft by false pretences. He was arrested on May 11.
His legal rights were explained to him and he indicated he would get a private lawyer.
The State represented by Ivann Tjizu objected to him being granted bail because Mazuimazi is a foreigner and the value involved is N$60 000, which has not been recovered.
The matter was remanded to June 30. He was informed that he could make a formal bail application.
Magistarte Kaulikalelwa Nghishitende presided.
