As he earlier promised, Immanuel ‘The Lion’ Mungandjela gave the large crowd gathered at the Lukas Dama Primary School on Saturday night good value for money when he stylishly sent Jason Mashela to the cleaners with a vicious 5th round knockout to win their welterweight fight.

In a boxing bonanza that was hosted by the Kilimanjaro Boxing Club with the help of Baby Face Company as sponsors, the paying crowd was treated to some great blistery action on the night that was decorated by nothing but knockouts.

Mungandjela was quick out of the starting blocks peppering Mashela with some heavy blows to the head, much the delight of a huge crowd. With the humiliation of the opening rounds, Mashela finally started gaining composure in the 3rd round closing in with a great combination of punches but Mungandjela was equal to the task as he kept giving back as much as he got from Mashela.

With just one minute and 25 seconds into the 5th round, Mungandjela who this time around appeared more sharper and determined wasted little time when he knocked out Mashela with a great combination, leaving the referee with no option but to end the bout.

“He is a very good fighter and I have so much respect for him, but on the night he failed to cover himself sufficiently and I took advantage of that,” said Mungandjela.

In the other results, lightweight boxer Kapena Nindja defeated Kennedy Kamati, while Nathanael Kakololo knocked down Abner Mwafongeyo to win their super bantamweight fight.
