Judging from his recent performance, Namibia’s most promising boxing prospect and incumbent national featherweight champion Sakaria ‘Desert Storm’ Lukas has all the characteristics of a future world champion and has promised to prove his mettle come tomorrow. B i l l e d a s t h e m a i n b o u t of tomorrow’s Prospects in A c t i o n b ox i n g b o n a n z a at the Windhoek Country Club Resor t and Casino, ‘Deser t Stor m’ will rumble against equally young Tanzanian opponent Issa Nampepeche for the vacant IBF Continental African Featherweight title.
For Lukas, as far as winning the fight is important the youngster will equally be expected to seize the opportunity
with a stellar performance as a good showing will signal the beginning of greater things to come and a step up in the
highly competitive African boxing arena. The undefeated fast and furious Namibian goes into tomorrow’s fight with a record of 14 wins from the same number fights, with nine of those victories attained within the distance.
As for the Tanzanian, who boasts a record of 20 wins, three losses and four draws from 27 fights in total, he
equally goes into the fight with high hopes and confident of avoiding a 4th defeat on his resume, but that desire will in the interim remain a point for debate as anything is likely to happen when the ‘Desert Storm’ is in c ompany.
The main bout is to be preceded by more than half a dozen mouthwatering undercard fights that have the potential
to upstage the main bout and some of the game-raising stars to feature on the night are Jeremiah ‘No Respect’ Nakathila, Simon ‘Baluka’ Johannes, Peter ‘The Butcher’ Malakia and Nathanial Kamati, to mention but a few.
