WINDHOEK– Chiro, winner of the 2011 Free Your Mind last comic standing competition, looks at Namibia from the outside.
As a visitor to Namibia from neighbouring Zimbabwe, he admits that he strongly relies on diplomatic immunity whilst he pulls his jokes at the Namibian society. This time around, he speaks openly about his personal constraints as a black person, who cannot dance and how he compensates such short-coming by losing himself in the pornographic cyberspace provided by his smart phone. This is tonight during the monthly series of Comedy in the House at Hilton’s Kalabar
Second on the programme is Taap, or, more precisely, Taap the Guy, laying it bare how much he hates Telemundo and comes face to face with a born free’s worst nightmare, namely his DStv access being reduced to mini bouquet. He has been building up awe and anxiety in the wake of the announcement of the imminent Trey Songz concert as well as the Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAS) and the prospect of being sent to the St Boniface of Botswana by his parents.
No holds are barred at this monthly comedy show. Courage and Pamela act as Master of Ceremony and DJ Mzoe plays house music in between the sketches. Comedy in the House is a collaboration between Free-Your-Mind, Ondjila Y’Ondjaba Concert Agency and the Hilton. It takes place at the Hilton Kalabar every last Friday of the month, starting 20h00. Entrance is free!
