RUNDU – The Kavango East Police Sports Team recently became beneficiaries of a donation worth N$10 000 from Rundu businessman Shoombe Frans, who made the donation on behalf of his bar, LBC Bar.
The donation included a full netball kit worth N$4 000 and a N$6 000 cheque for the team to use while travelling to the annual police sports championships to be held in Oshakati from the 19th to the 29th of this month.
Delighted members of the Nampol sports team collectively thanked Shoombe for his unwavering support. “This came at the right time, just as we were about to embark on our crucial journey to Oshakati to play other police teams from various regions. We approached the owner of LBC Bar and he didn’t have a problem to assist us,” said captain of the netball team, Warrant Officer Gamses Sylvia.
“I just wanted to support them because the police are protecting our community and our businesses are safe because of them, so we need to support were we can as business people,” said Shoombe.
On the other hand, the male football team also received 10 balls worth N$1 900 from another local Rundu businessman Josia Haindongo, who further promised the team a full football kit if they win the games.
