Home Sports Eliminators Cup set to take place this weekend

WINDHOEK – The Eliminators Table Tennis Club (ETTC) hosts its annual tournament at the Eliminators Club in Windhoek tomorrow.

The prestigious event returned to the NTTA calendar last year following a five-year absence. Close to 80 players from all over the country made their way to last year’s event. Besides the eagerly anticipated table tennis action between some of Namibia’s finest players, the tournament will see the introduction of a variety of new and different aspects.

One of the highlights will be the ladies division. For the first time in a long while the tournament will feature a ladies and a mixed doubles category.

Furthermore, it would be the first tournament at which both the seniors and juniors would use the continuous draw system. This system was first introduced during the Saunderson & Co Rehoboth junior open last month.
The men’s open category would also be introduced at tomorrow’s tournament to replace the senior singles category.

The category is open to all ages.

The juniors will, however, still battle it out in their respective divisions.
