LÜDERITZ – Latifah Makaula was crowned 2015 Miss Lüderitz Crayfish Festival before hundreds of people gathered in the community hall last weekend.

Lüderitz Town Council held its eighth annual Miss Lüderitz Crayfish 2015 beauty pageant last Friday.
The pageant, which attracted hundreds of people, has been described as a huge success. Ten contestants took part in the pageant seen as a precursor to the Lüderitz Crayfish Festival that takes place from April 3 to 6 under the theme, “We Love the Sea”.
Makaula also scooped the Miss Personality prize while Elise Shiimi was crowned the second princess and the first princess prize went to Natasha Wilson.
Contestants were judged on their charisma, poise and attire. Nerves ran high as contestants strutted their stuff on the catwalk for each category: swimwear, traditional wear and evening wear.
Lüderitz Town Council thanked their sponsors: Anna Bostander, Timo Lodge, Aina Petrus, and Loidi-Ann’s Hair Salon.
Many activities are lined up this week, such as the Lüderitz Mayoral Businesswomen Dinner that takes place on Thursday at Nest Hotel whereby businesswomen will share their experiences of success in the business world.
