ONDANGWA – Situated on the outskirts of Ondangwa, North Cote Private School has transformed its curricula from the traditional strictly classroom-based activities to a more sports oriented environment, where sports now forms part of compulsory classes.

The director of the school, Dr Jerry Lwande, said the school is taking sport seriously and has put up facilities that will enable the learners to keep up with various international sports trends.

He said the school is offering sport lessons in most Olympics sports codes ranging from all ball games to swimming, athletics and go-karting.

He said the school has invested heavily in sport facilities to equip learners with basic sports skills in most disciplines, saying this gives learners more exposure at an early stage to enhance their sports skills.

Learners have an opportunity to do every sport code once in a seven-day cycle where comprehensive teaching is done by a subject teacher and two assistant teachers, who closely monitor the progress of each and every learner and carry out extensive assessments.

Jerry said the school’s main focus is to train learners holistically so that they can compete anywhere in the world. The school has a state-of-the-art swimming pool for beginners, and volleyball and netball courts.
