RUNDU – A man who tried to prevent another man from beating his wife lost his life on Sunday when the wife-beater allegedly stabbed him with a spear.
The incident happened at Masivi village in Kavango West along the Grootfontein main road at about 20h00.
It was reported that the suspect fought with his wife and the deceased went to ask why he was beating his wife as he was related to the wife. The suspect then turned against him and stabbed him with a spear in the left side of his chest.
The victim was rushed to the Rundu intermediary hospital where he passed away.
The suspect was hospitalised in the same hospital while in police custody as he was assaulted by family members of the deceased.
The deceased was identified as Sampu Matheus, of unknown age.
