As anticipation builds up for Kaptein Tswazi’s “Alala” music video, it has reached a crescendo as people eagerly await the official release of the song.
“Alala” is a song by Milton Mootseng,
popularly known as Kaptein Tswazi and featuring renowned Hip Hop artist Jericho, Damara Dik Ding (DDD), and Mega.
The collaboration brings together diverse talents to create a piece of art inspired by the theme of men’s heartbreak.
The track has been creating a buzz over the past two weeks on YouTube, sparking excitement among music enthusiasts.
“Most of the time, society only focuses on women’s abuse, and what men do to them. So, I wrote this song, being more concerned about our feelings as men. There are a lot of guys going through emotional abuse from women, but since they don’t vocalise it, it is not addressed publicly. It is about a woman who drains the hell out of you, but you just can’t keep away from it,” said Jericho.
The artists explain that “Alala” is Namibian slang for a person in pain, screaming for help.
Thus, the song depicts how everyone can experience the agony which accompanies love. This is the message each artist on the song is executing.
This video will be shot on 2 and 4 February.
Kaptein said he did not shoot one after SKIPPA. Therefore, to make his fans proud, he promises to make this video “bigger” and “better”, as they too are excited to be in the music video.
The public excitement
DDD said the song is doing well on media platforms, and the public has really embraced it in a short period of time.
“The energy is exciting, and the public’s response is positive. It is receiving airplay on
radio platforms and starting to trend on TikTok as well, regardless of no music video yet,” said DDD.
The song had 16 000 views on YouTube as of yesterday, without any visuals. Like his previous song “SKIPPA”, Kaptein Tswazi is adamant that “Alala” will amass a million views, judged by the anticipation it is getting from the public.
Collaborations
“There’s power in collaboration, and it brings supporters from both worlds together. It’s a beautiful thing to see when you break cultural borders, blend styles, and bring people together. I have also produced a new song or collabo for us that I feel represents where we are coming from and going musically,” said Kaptein Tswazi.
As a creative, he knew that collaborating with Mega, Jericho and DDD would do justice to the song.
Speaking on the collaboration, DDD said it
has been a long time coming. They are planning to do more features together in the future.
On the other hand, Jericho said he has a
history with Kaptein Tswazi, as they have been friends way before music.
“Kaptein is a great artist, and I respect his
work. It’s always been an honour working with him. This is our second collaboration together,” he added.
Currently, Kaptein Tswazi is working on a gospel single which will be released shortly, following the premiere of Alala’s music video.
This is because he promised his fans that he would drop back-to-back tracks before the release of
his third album, “Champion Grace”.
The upload date of the “Alala” music video is yet to be announced. -julinak990@gmail.com
