Ndapanda Haininga
While driving to work earlier this week, one of my favourite songs came onto the screen as I shuffled through my ‘favourite tracks’ folder on Deezer, ‘Grow as We Go’ by Ben Platt. The song, though beautiful in melody, pulls at my heartstrings mostly because of the lyrics. Ben speaks about something I have struggled with all through my life, allowing people to tag along as I manoeuvre through being a work in progress.
For context, here is an extract of the chorus.
“You don’t ever have to leave if change is what you need, you can change right next to me. When you’re high, I’ll take the lows, you can ebb and I can flow, and we will take it slow – and grow as we go’
Is that not the most beautiful thing?
To have support solid enough to hold your hand when you don’t feel whole, when you are unable to live to your full potential? To be able to hand some of your load over when you are unable to carry it, and someone is able and willing to do that for you? It’s unreal, and that is what I am asking you to continue to be for me, my dear readers.
This year has been busier than I had anticipated it would be. I found myself with more on my table than I can chew, and my readers have been nothing short of gracious.
Haven’t been able to honour many of my travels, and have therefore not been able to share as much on travel this year as I have last year. But I never felt like I was carrying a load by myself. I continue to receive good feedback on my emails, my Instagram, my Twitter and even Facebook.
You have kept me going, thank you.
The year is slowly coming to an end, and in next week’s article, I will share some of Namibia’s newest holiday destinations for your December getaways.
