SWAKOPMUND – A total of 101 009 Namibians applied for 13 000 temporary jobs which were advertised recently by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) for the Population and Housing Census, to be carried out from 18 September to 3 November. This was revealed by statistician general Alex Shimuafeni at a media conference held in Swakopmund on Wednesday regarding the status and preparations for the upcoming event.
The NSA advertised these positions in June this year. Shimuafeni stated that a further 10 485 applications were received for the office-based positions which the agency also advertised. “Only those applicants who have submitted their applications through the NSA online recruitment system, as specified in the advertisement, are considered. Only applicants who fully met the requirements will be selected for training,” he added.
Shimuafeni said the selection of persons living with disabilities will depend on the nature of the disability, and provided that they meet the requirements of the positions applied for.
