NAMIBIAN cyclist Vera Looser yesterday morning finished third in the 78km elite women’s race of the Cape Town Cycle Tour in the Western Cape.
South Africa’s 23-year-old Tiffany Keep won the race in a time of 2:12:01, with her compatriot S’narra Grove taking second place. Another Namibian cyclist Melissa Hinz finished in ninth position.
In the men’s elite race, Alex Miller finished in seventh position over 109km. Miller finished in a time of 2:31:21. Twenty-eight-year-old Kent Main of South Africa claimed the men’s elite race, crossing the line in a time of 2:31:21.
Charlie Aldridge of Great Britain finished in second place, 14 seconds behind, with South Africa’s Alan Hatherly in third.
