Namibian rugby players Delron Brandt and Dylan Izaaks have joined countryman Rowan Jansen in the Czech Republic.
The two players signed five-month contracts with RC Dragon Brno.
The club currently plays in the Extraliga Ragby XV and has also been involved in the Central and Eastern European Rugby Cup since its inception in 2008.
Twenty-three-year-old inside and outside centre Brandt explained that they signed short contracts as it is a short league with few teams.
He said the team is competitive and powerful, even though they lost their first match recently.
Brandt also shared a few words regarding the team’s management, saying that they are great to work with.
In addition, he said that he is still working on getting used to the weather. “It is very cold, and I end up wearing two jackets just to keep warm,” said Brandt.
The player previously played for Unam and Rehoboth and hopes to hone his skills, pick up experience and feature in the national rugby side.
His compatriot, Izaaks (26) said it feels good to be part of the team. “The atmosphere is great, and the people are friendly,” said the centre.
On the other side, 20-year-old flanker Jansen, who has been playing for the club for the last two years, said it is a privilege to be part of the club. He previously played for Western Suburbs and Unam. He welcomed his new teammates and implored them to work hard and learn new tactics.
