An eight-year-old girl and a 40-year-old man were burned beyond recognition after the hut they were in was struck by lightning and caught fire.
According to the weekend police crime report, the incident happened around 17h00 at Onehova village in the Omundaungilo constituency of the Ohangwena region.
It is alleged that there were eight people in the house when it was struck by lightning, but the two victims failed to escape the fire.
They were identified as Sylvia Nghinananye Moses and Sakeus Simon.
In another incident, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped on two occasions during the month of October at an unknown time and date, by her uncle.
According to Oshikoto police spokesperson Ellen Nehale, the incident occurred at Okankuzi village in Omuthiya.
It is reported that the suspect allegedly used to carry the victim to his sleeping room, remove her clothes and rape her.
The victim allegedly informed one of her neighbours, who alerted the Life Skills teacher and the police.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old woman was raped in front of her six-year-old son at Okombahe settlement on Saturday.
According to the police, the incident happened at around 02h40 in the Omaruru district.
It is alleged that the suspect intentionally and unlawfully entered the victim’s room, which was left open while she was sleeping with her son.
It is reported that the two were not in a relationship, but they were drinking together that night.
