KATIMA MULILO – Swapo’s recruitment and mobilisation rally at Ngonga in Judea Lyaboloma constituency in Zambezi region, attended by Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, saw 113 new members receiving their membership cards.
Kuugongelwa-Amadhila called on unity in the party to ensure victory.
She also said Swapo is a people’s party, “not only because we need people to remain in power but because the reason for the founding of Swapo itself in 1960 was to ensure we protect and promote the welfare of the people of Namibia, their political welfare, their social welfare and their economic welfare.”
She said Swapo is a party whose principles and values are based on hard work and sacrifice.
“The founding members of Swapo established this party to be a mass movement of the people of Namibia who are inspired to bring change to the country and that change was political freedom and independence. They were inspired to bring change themselves, not to call for change to be brought by another person. By mobilising this new members, Judea Lyaboloma has done just that,” said Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.
She further said it is a priority for the Swapo-led government to ensure that every corner of Namibia is reached with energy- as well as water infrastructure, be it through pipes or boreholes, all will be rolled out to the different parts of this region.
Kuugongelwa-Amadhila further said the recruitment and mobilisation drive was aimed at celebrating Namibian compatriots, who have recognised that it is only Swapo that is a trusted political party and that it is only Swapo that provides a platform for Namibians to optimise their potential intellectually.
