OKAHANDJA – Despite the installation of academic Mutjinde Katjiua as paramount chief of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority (OTA) by his faction, acting PC of the authority Vipuira Kapuuo said the race for the legitimate OTA PC has commenced, and that the community’s supreme leader will be announced in three weeks.
“On 9 August, three weeks from now, I will call you at a soon-to-be-announced location so we can sit and choose our next PC. Bring those names up,” Kapuuo announced at a poorly attended Red Flag Day commemoration, held at Okahandja in Otjozondjupa on Sunday. He said the delay in announcing the community PC was due to the traditional custom, which prohibits anyone from replacing a deceased person before the tombstone unveiling.
“We were waiting for our PC Vekuii Rukoro’s gravestone to be unveiled. Now that it is done, we are ready; let’s meet at the
