Women in Media handed over school shoes to Tsumkwe Secondary School on
Friday.

They also provided sanitary items and maize meal to some community members in Tsumkwe.

Founders Limba Mupetami and Jemima Beukes expressed gratitude to the sponsors, emphasising that collaboration is key to successful projects.

Mupetami highlighted their successful outreach in January, where they distributed school uniforms, sanitary items and food to learners.

She said that the recent donation of school shoes fulfilled a promise made during the January outreach.

“We are a non-profit organisation running events, mentorship and
outreach programmes. We seek
funding for small projects, and request items needed by learners and communities.

Our goal is to help children attend school in a better state. Without donors, our efforts would be impossible.

Rossing purchased the school shoes, Pupkewitz provided transport for our 1 200 km journey, Blush Foundation supplied sanitary items, Namib Mills donated food products
and MultiChoice funded logistics. Everyone’s contributions made a difference, and we are grateful for their support,” she said.

On her part, Beukes added, “There
is always a need for pads, as periods come every month. Even working women
often don’t have money for pads. How about a schoolgirl who lives on the peripheries of society?

“Namibians must help to remove
any hurdle that keeps a child out of school. Education is a right, not a privilege, and together we can ensure no child is left behind due to a lack of necessities.”
