Industry loop – Mega a flop story?

Industry loop – Mega a flop story?

Chazz and Paula on Fresh FM on Wednesday came out on air, and alleged that Mega left them on blue ticks. Chazz explained how she tried to get him on air on Friday and Monday unsuccessfully.

She mentioned that Mega was busy with other commitments. To which Chazz revealed that they had agreed with Mega to have him in the studio on Wednesday.

Wednesday came, and Mega was not in the studio with Chazz and Paula. Bear in mind, Meneer Cee went on a whole public relations run. He was on air with Chazz and Paula a day after the allegations were levelled against him by Mega.

That same night, Meneer Cee went live on Instagram to address more allegations that may have surfaced as a result of the conversation with the duo.

As a matter of fact, he alleged that he invited Mega to the live session to settle this story once and for all. Mega may have seemingly declined this invitation.

Meneer Cee in that interview with Chazz and Paula levelled borderline crazy allegations against Mega.

Meneer Cee claims that Mega agreed to have the remix on his channel to reach the larger South African audience.

Meneer Cee claims that Mega had no interest in promoting the song through collaborative efforts on social media. He claims to have invited Mega tonnes of times to South Africa for more opportunities but Mega does not have a passport and is stage shy.

Hence borderline crazy, sources tell me that Mega did listen to the interview of Meneer Cee with Chazz and Paula. So, if these allegations levelled against Mega by Meneer Cee sound borderline crazy to me, surely it should drive Mega nuts, right?

Surely, it should be a top priority for Mega to rebut the claims made by Meneer Cee, right?

But at every corner, Mega has been a no-show.

He was presented with ample opportunities to set the record straight, and he has not done it.

As a matter of fact, by Wednesday of submitting this column to my esteemed friends at the New Era newspaper, he did not even use social media to set the record straight.Meneer Cee was on the radio last week Friday.

Mega has not responded to Meneer Cee’s claims by Wednesday.

That is six days (possibly more).

So, for six days and more, Meneer Cee has controlled the narrative around this debacle.

I find this diabolical.

Mega has never had this much attention in his entire career.

The whole of Southern Africa is literally yearning for an explanation, and he comes up zero at every opportunity presented. Is it a lack of understanding of how crucial public relations is?

Was Mega indeed untruthful in his claims against Meneer Cee?

Until Mega realises how important it is to speak up and drive your narrative, we will have to unfortunately assume that Meneer Cee’s allegations might just be true.

Even when Mega does one fine day speak up, I fear that the story will be irrelevant, and that life would have moved on as we know it.

He may have missed an incredible opportunity to not only share his truth but also to capitalise on possible monetary opportunities.

Until the next Loop, we say #GMTM
