The national team coaches for the upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifiers on Sunday announced a 36-man squad set to report for a training camp at the Namibia Football Association (NFA).

The called-up players for the uniquely-reserved competition for players plying their trade in their local leagues started with training sessions at the NFA Technical Centre yesterday afternoon.

Namibia is scheduled to take on Lesotho in the first round of qualifiers, scheduled between 25 and 27 October, as well as 1 and 3 November 2024. 

The second and final round of qualifiers is set for 20 to 22 December, and 27 to 29 December 2024.

The winner between Namibia and Lesotho will face Angola in the second round of qualifiers. 

The winners of that round will book themselves a slot in the final competition that will be staged in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from 1 to 28 February 2025.

The eighth edition of the tournament will for the first time in the history of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) be jointly hosted by three nations, with 16 other African teams joining them in competing for silverware.

The selected squad is as follows

Defenders: Charles Hambira (African Stars), Ngero Katua (African Stars), Tuli Nashixwa (Tigers), Tusha Ikeinge (Khomas Nampol), Sergio Damaseb (Mighty Gunners), Gerson Paulus (Julinho Athletic Football Club), David Aingwafa (Eeshoke Chula Chula), Petrus Kamati (Namibia Correctional Service (NCS), Kennedy Eib (Eeshoke Chula Chula) and Dominikus Narib (Okahandja United).
