Police in Ohangwena region are investigating a case of murder after an Angolan boy was allegedly hit with a bottle by a 43-year-old mentally unstable man at Oshikunde village in Omundaungilo area on Friday.
Ohangwena Crime Investigation Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Melanie Mburuu, said that the 16-year-old boy was employed as a domestic worker.
It is further alleged that the suspect and the deceased had lunch together.
“Afterward, the deceased went to take a shower. While he was showering, the suspect used an empty Coca-Cola bootle and hit the deceased on the left ear, causing a deep wound cut,” Mburuu said.
She said that the deceased was found lying on his back in an unconscious state in the shower.
“He was taken to Oshikunde clinic and later transferred to Eenhana hospital, where he died on Saturday morning,” Mburuu said.
Mburuu added that the motive is unknown, and the two are not related.
