If the election outcomes in South Africa, Botswana, and now the USA are not clearly pointing to something, one would not know what else to do.
It has not been clearer that there is a great and fundamental spiritual transformation going on in the entire world. The truth of the matter is that, at some point, the world seemed to have forgotten that change is constant.
If we do not willingly initiate and prepare for change, nature will ensure that it happens anyway regardless of how oblivious we may be. With that said, more than anything, there are clearly great lessons to be learnt from these recent events.
One clear lesson to be learnt from these events is that it seems the mainstream media, especially in the West, has either become irrelevant and lost its mojo or is completely out of touch with the masses and blindly just drives the narrative and rhetoric of their sponsors.
After all the years of demonising, now the 47th US president-elect, most of the citizens seem to see him differently and voted for him anyway.
As for politics, the South African and Botswana election outcomes seem to have defeated the odds of the usual immortal grip liberation movements have had on their nations for decades after independence.
This should be a heads-up to other nations heading towards elections to see that there is something new on the horizon and conducting business as usual may eventually be costly.
Not only are there lessons to be learnt, but it may also be an opportunity for every political movement to get out of its echo chamber and adapt to the winds of change.
Ultimately, there are generally great lessons and realizations that the winds of change seem to have brought about. One lesson and realization is that, due to the ease of access to information, most people are more likely to be informed and think critically for themselves.
They no longer care for what a politician or celebrity tells them. Besides that, more people can now see the old-fashioned propaganda and pandering from those who for years had control over the flow of information. Another lesson, which should also be an epiphany to the legacy media in the West, especially after the Trump victory, is that they played their hand too far.
Maybe being agents of deception, disparaging hate, division and pitching citizens against one another for political gain and ratings is no longer effective. Maybe playing the race card, fear-mongering and emotional blackmail while expecting people to believe what you say and not what they see actually repels them rather than win them over.
Of course, the winds of change will continue to blow, and those who are not ready to adjust their sails are in for a disaster. This does not only apply to politicians, celebrities and propagandists parading as journalists but to all of us. To survive the winds of change requires us to honestly assess ourselves, our beliefs and convictions.
It will be worth taking even just a little while, to think that maybe we are not as right, smart and truly as informed as we may think we are. For in this, there is nothing to lose but everything to gain.
