Cricket Namibia appoints new biokinetics and gym manager

Cricket Namibia (CN) recently announced the appointment of Evert Laubscher as the biokinetics and gym facility manager.

He officially joined the team on 1 November, bringing with him extensive international experience and specialised expertise, which will support CN’s player development and high-performance objectives.

As a CSA Level 3 coach, registered biokineticist and certified strength and conditioning specialist, Laubscher is uniquely qualified to elevate CN’s programmes for both the men’s and women’s teams.

He has gained valuable international experience working with the Bangladesh National Cricket Academy, Uganda Cricket and the Oman Cricket team. With over a decade of involvement in the Titans cricket set-up, he has coached at Premier League club level, and served as a pipeline coach for youth teams from U13 to U19. Additionally, he spent four years in private practice as a biokineticist.

Reflecting on his new role, Laubscher shared, “Over the past few years, I have been in an opposing changeroom to the Eagles. This has given me an opportunity to observe them in the heat of the battle, when real character is exposed. I have always quietly admired their discipline, camaraderie and fighting spirit. I really look forward to being part of this organisation, and playing my part in building the game in Namibia.” CN is currently constructing a gym at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground, where Laubscher will assume responsibility as gym facility manager upon its completion.

His role aligns with CN’s strategic focus on player development, and includes overseeing conditioning and rehabilitation programmes, leading the medical team, and managing the High-Performance gym.
