Body of Christ Party (BCP) leader Festus Thomas has vowed to lead Namibia to the biblical ‘Promised Land’ of prosperity, if elected to power.
He likened his leadership to that of Moses in the Bible, stating that he would guide the country to the ‘Promised Land’ through effective service delivery, job creation, and enhanced healthcare services.
In the Bible, Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land of Canaan, which is the modern-day Israel, Jordan, and parts of other countries.
The Bible describes Canaan as a fertile land with rich soil for agriculture and shepherding, and mountains for protection. The land was also known as “a land flowing with milk and honey”.
Thomas spoke at a party rally held at Omuthiya last week when he called on all Christians and Namibians to vote for his party.
“Now is the time for you to elect a leader of integrity who will have your best interest at heart, leaders who are committed to rooting out corruption and dishonesty at all levels of government, keeping your community safe, bolstering the economy, and upholding your rights and freedoms,” Thomas said.
He urged Namibians to ensure that, for the good of the nation, the BCP is represented in the National Assembly.
“By electing BCP to the national power, you are entrusting honest, caring and decisive leaders to effectively deliver affordable services,” Thomas added.
BCP was launched last year targeting Christians of all denominations for membership and striving to take the voice of Christians to the National Assembly.
“A party with a strong biblical foundation, the BCP seeks to honour God first and put you and your needs at the centre of our policies. We are determined to address critical issues without fear or favour and are here to serve you and help you fully realise the Namibia you deserve,” Thomas explained.
He said his party would create a people-centred government capable of addressing their needs.
