ONDANGWA – Political parties’ agents in the Oshana region are happy with the election process, saying no major challenges were observed.

Laimi Shilongo, who is an agent for the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) at Akweenyanga, said election proceedings have been smooth, with no hiccups recorded.

Swapo Party agent Tertu Stephanus echoed these sentiments, saying everything was smooth.

Another Swapo Party agent, Hans Amesho at Oikango Combined School polling station, said the election proceeded well.

“The only obstacle was the UV battery shutting down, and we had to wait for 30 minutes to get new ones,” he said. IPC observer Otto Otto stated that the elections were smooth at their polling station.
At Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School, Swapo Party agent Boas Ngelume indicated that they only observed challenges such as the tablets malfunctioning, which cost valuable time as they had to wait for assistance from the technical team.

IPC agent, Penda Sheya said that the only challenge was the ballot boxes being full and the ECN officials wanting to push the ballot papers down with a ruler, which he prevented them from doing.

“I told them to follow what the ECN manual is saying and ask for a new ballot box,” he added.

Affirmative Repositioning party agent, Johanna Shipanga said that she observed no challenges, adding that the process was fast and the people were eager to cast their votes. -Nampa
