The Debmarine Premiership will play its last match before heading into the Christmas break, with log leaders Khomas Nampol hoping to go into the break on a high note.
Action will start tonight with Nampol, who are on top, hoping to keep their rhythm going when they clash against Civics in a tie expected to produce fireworks at Independence Stadium in the capital. The match is expected to start at 19h00.
Tomorrow, Eeshoke Chula Chula, who are placed 12th in the standing with four points, will take to the field to square off against a wounded FC Ongos side at Omulunga Stadium in Grootfontein. Their tie is set to start at 16h00.
Speaking to this publication, newly appointed FC Ongos head coach Elemu Agnus admitted that it would be a difficult match this weekend. He added that he, however, embraces the challenge. “It’s a difficult situation where we find ourselves, having the head coach fired, we’ve worked with him from the pre-season to now but me coming in it would mean picking up those pieces. It’s a disturbing atmosphere now but at the end of the day it’s ‘we move on with life’.”
“I will take this new challenge on, Ongos is in good shape, we have dominated most of the games we have played so far, and the only problem standing in our way is being able to get goals. I will try a new tactical approach as well as the new training routine,” he added.
At Oscar Norich Stadium, in Tsumeb, fans will be in for a treat as newbies KK Palace are set to lock horns against Shandumbala outfit Tigers in another exciting tie for the weekend. Young African, on the other hand, will take on Blue Waters at Persianer Sport Stadium, in Mariental, at 16h00. Meanwhile, reigning Debmarine champions, African Stars will be on the quest to collect maximum points when they host coastal outfit and newcomers Blue Boys at Independence Stadium at 17h00.
Young Brazilians, who have so far amassed seven points, will take to the field and play against Unam at J Stephanus Stadium at 16h00 in Keetmanshoop. In Rundu, Cuca Tops will be looking to redeem themselves when they host an equally strong Okahandja United side at Rundu Sport Stadium at 14h00, while at 16h00, Julinho Sporting will clash against Mighty Gunners, who are second on the standings with 11 points.
