Industry Loop – 2024? Sharp is ook alright!

Industry Loop – 2024? Sharp is ook alright!

I think we can all agree that 2024 was dramatic AF! I have a theory as to why 2024 was so dramatic. My theory is simple… Katt Williams! Since Club Shay Shay dropped that podcast with Katt Williams in January…it’s been a mess. It’s almost as if everybody in the industry just said “f**k it…let’s go!”. That podcast fueled so much drama both internationally and locally.

Locally…Industry Loop the podcast version BLEW UP! The first episode dropped in February featuring the outspoken Sula Kyababa. Sula exercised his right to reply by hitting back at TV presenter Liz Ross for saying that he did not “make her”. Sula was previously featured on the podcast in 2023. In that episode, he alleged that former one-half of Gal Level, Freeda is being held captive by her husband…Dr Mondo.

The drama on the podcast version of #IndustryLoop continued with internationalist, Julia BossLady. Julia BossLady who frequents Dubai used the opportunity to quell long-standing rumours of her international trips by explaining how she makes her money.

Industry veteran Fidel O’Del was next on the podcast and let’s just say…it was explosive. He claimed what now has become the Namibia Annual Music Awards was his brainchild that was stolen from him when the concept was in its infancy. He also narrated how the GMP and Mshasho beef started which drew a scathing response on Instagram from Sunny Boy. Namibia’s forever best MC, Webster “jumped” on the red couch in an episode which revealed that Jericho physically assaulted him more than once and that Jericho never apologised. Jericho was invited to exercise his right to reply but never got back to us. He, however, responded via TikTok and used the opportunity to drop a comment on a post, apologising to Webster as opposed to doing it on the podcast. Arguably one of Namibia’s greatest female actors…Hazel Hinda grabbed the bull by its horns and addressed the lack of respect Namibians have for the creative industry. She questioned our identity or lack thereof as Namibians in a fast-paced world where foreign cultures seem to dominate our way of life. The final episode of the podcast version of #IndustryLoop saw singer Ann Singer clarify misconceptions about her life, career and parental relationship with Mushe. The misconceptions were a result of Mushe’s featuring on a different podcast.

When asked if Mushe ever abused her…she flat out without hesitation said no. However, when asked if Mushe is an active baby father…she replied “That’s a question Mushe will need to answer himself ”. *takes a sip of Ombike*

Her answer had a lot of people wondering if Mushe really does play an active role as a father.

We reached out to Mushe to gift him his right to reply but to no avail as he did not get back to us. Like I said… DRAMA. The drama won’t stay in 2024 though. The drama will continue in 2025 and I will be right in the middle of it… ready to ask the hard questions. Questions that you know need answering. 2024? Sharp is ook alright.

2025…let’s get it!

Until the next Loop, we say #GMTM
