Omaheke SC aim for dominance in second division

EPUKIRO – The coach of the Omaheke Sports Club (SC), Meno Tjahuha, has said his team is motivated to win everything in the Namport Omaheke Second Division League this season.

Omaheke SC, formerly known as Omaheke NamPol, remains unbeaten and is sitting on top of the region’s second division league summit, after winning seven games out of eight and drawing one.

Tjahuha said the players and the entire technical team “eat football,” and that is the reason for the stellar performances in the league.

“Football is on our mind, and we have improved our training methods; we do more ball-work that shaped our team. Our players are more committed and understand our mission clearly,” he said.

The coach added that the team was bolstered with the addition of two midfield players and a goalkeeper.

Tjahuha also said Omaheke SC was supposed to play in the first division this season but was denied the spot due to the fact that there is already a NamPol team in the first division.

“That has prompted the team to change its name to Omaheke SC to enable it to play even beyond first division. It was an unfortunate experience to win the league and be told that you can’t go through to the next level. But it is what it is,” the coach said.– Nampa
