Amseb joins Olympique Khouribga … hopes to feature this weekend

Namibian midfielder Aubrey Amseb has completed his move to Moroccan second-division club Olympique Khouribga from Botswana’s Township Rollers.

The 30-year-old playmaker, known for his technical ability and vision on the field, joins the North African club after making 10 appearances and providing three assists for the Rollers.

Speaking about his new journey, Amseb expressed excitement, but acknowledged the challenges of adapting to life in Morocco.

“All is well here. It was a bit cold when I arrived, but the weather is getting better now. I received a proper welcome from the club, but the language barrier is tough. They speak French and Arabic, so communication is a bit tricky. However, football is a universal language, so I just observe and follow along during training,” Amseb said.

Despite the challenges, the midfielder is impressed with the club’s facilities.

“The training pitches are excellent. I really can’t complain. The environment is professional, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team.”

Reflecting on his time in Botswana, he expressed gratitude for his experience at one of the biggest clubs in the country.

“Township Rollers is a massive team, and I was happy to be part of that brand. I will definitely miss the people, the culture, the food I got used to, and even the language, which I was starting to understand.”

Now focused on the next chapter of his career, Amseb is eager to make his debut for Olympique Khouribga.

“My paperwork is done, so hopefully I’ll be in the squad for this week’s match. I’m excited and ready to give my best for the team,” he added.

With his experience and skillset, Amseb is expected to bring creativity and depth to Olympique Khouribga’s midfield as they push for promotion to Morocco’s top tier as the club is currently at the bottom of the log.
