Omaheke second division set to resume

Omaheke second division set to resume

GOBABIS – After a lengthy break from sporting activities across the country, the Namport Omaheke Second-Division Football League will resume with round 11 fixtures this Sunday.

Matches will take place at the Billo Nowaseb Sports Complex in Leonardville and the Legare Sports Complex in Gobabis.

The action kicks off at 10h00 in Leonardville with a highly anticipated derby between Kom Haal Hulle FC and Golden Boys at Billo Nowaseb Sports Complex.

In Gobabis, Nossob FC will take on Epako Pirates at 12h00 on Legare’s Field A, while struggling Mathat FC faces league leaders Omaheke Sports Club at the same time on Field B.

Later in the day, one of Gobabis’ historic clubs, Eastern Chiefs, will go up against Tough Guys FC at 14h00 on Legare’s Field A. Meanwhile, in what is considered a high-profile fixture, the in-form Desert Rollers SC will battle Omaheke Megasave at 14h00.

League chairperson Theobald Kahuure explained that all matches will be played on Sunday due to prior bookings at the Legare Sports Complex on Saturday.

“We had no other choice, so we scheduled our round 11 matches for Sunday to accommodate other users of the complex,” said Kahuure.

Meanwhile, Desert Rollers SC captain Crooks Nunuheb remains confident that his side will maintain their momentum from before the break.

“Megasave is a strong team, but we are ready to give it our all,” he stated.

Nunuheb also revealed that the team has strengthened its squad with three new signings – midfielder James Shikwaya from Foxy Senior FC (Oshana Second Division), Tjijandjeua Hangero from Otjinene, and Efraim Joseph alongside Cheeze Goagoseb.
