NCS aims for dominance as league action resumes

As the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League enters a crucial phase, log leaders Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) step onto the court with a clear mission this weekend: to extend their lead at the top of the table and tighten their grip on the 2025 title race.

The upcoming Round 16 and 17 fixtures, scheduled to take place at the Khomasdal Stadium netball courts, provide NCS with a golden opportunity to pull further ahead in the standings.

They currently lead the table with 28 points — one point clear of Otjozondjupa Nampol, who are second on 27, and four points ahead of Unam Ogongo, who trail in third place with 24 points.

What makes this weekend especially critical for NCS is that both of their closest rivals will not be in action allowing the team to capitalise on that absence and build a bigger cushion at the summit of the league.

NCS have been one of the most consistent teams throughout the season, showing strong cohesion, defensive discipline, and accurate shooting, even under pressure. With momentum on their side and a chance to seize control of the league narrative, their performances this weekend could be pivotal. The Khomasdal Stadium is expected to draw a sizable crowd of fans eager to see whether NCS can rise to the occasion and maintain their winning rhythm as the season edges closer to the decisive stages.

If NCS secure back-to-back victories this weekend, they could open up a 4- and 6-point gap ahead of second and third-placed teams respectively — a significant psychological advantage as the title race intensifies in the final stretch of the season.
