Three men died in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday morning at around 03h00 in Windhoek when the driver allegedly lost control over the vehicle. An incident report, issued by the Namibian police, said the incident occurred on the B1 road Western Bypass under the bridge between the Katutura State Hospital and the Windhoek Central Hospital when the 31-year-old driver of a Polo GTI lost control over the vehicle. As a result, he hit a bridge pillar and the vehicle overturned, killing himself and two passengers instantly.
According to the report, the trio was last seen at a nightclub in Prosperita, Windhoek, and was later seen speeding off, as they were allegedly racing another vehicle [an Audi].
The deceased were identified as Francois Lottering (driver), Mark KrÖner (31) and his brother Carloton KrÖner (33).
In another incident on Saturday, a man who was travelling alone, died after the Nissan pickup he was driving overturned and he lost control. He was thrown out of the car and died on impact. The crash happened on Sam Nujoma Drive. – Nampa/own reporter
