Red Force demands retraction from Sankwasa

KATIMA MULILO – Red Force Debt Management has formally demanded a retraction, apology, and cessation of statements by Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, allegedly made during a public meeting in Katima Mulilo on 11 November 2025.

During the live-streamed event on the Katima Mulilo Town Council’s Facebook page, the minister alleged that there was no contract between Red Force and the Katima Mulilo Town Council—a statement Red Force vehemently denies.

Red Force presented signed procurement documents and communications from council officials proving the contract’s existence, arguing that the minister’s claims were both factually incorrect and politically motivated, turning an administrative issue into a political talking point ahead of elections.

The company has given the minister 48 hours to retract his statements, warning that failure to do so will result in an urgent High Court application seeking an interdict to stop further defamatory remarks.

Selma Nangombe of Red Force stated that the integrity and reputation of Red Force and its employees are at stake, emphasising that the matter is now “getting serious.”

In their formal retraction letter, the company highlighted that the minister, while presenting a document he described as an “audit report”, claimed that there was no contract between Red Force and the Katima Mulilo Town Council.

Red Force refuted this assertion, providing signed procurement documents, addenda, and official communications from council officials proving the existence of the contract.
