Capricorn elevates Namibia’s polo scene

Capricorn Private Wealth recently backed Namibia’s first-ever polo showcase, bringing together clients, business leaders and equestrian enthusiasts for a day defined by sport, networking and premium hospitality.

Held at La Muela Polo Estate in Aus Mountains south of Windhoek, the event offered many attendees their first introduction to polo, widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious equestrian sports.

Bank Windhoek Managing Director James Chapman said the initiative reflects the group’s commitment to combining local expertise with global investment insight.

“We are proud to support initiatives that celebrate excellence and contribute excellence and help elevate Namibia’s lifestyle and sporting calendar,” Chapman said.

Guests were treated to a four-chukka exhibition match on a full-size international field, complete with live commentary. The event also featured a showcase of Argentine polo horses, giving visitors a closer look at the athleticism and discipline behind the sport.

A relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere was complemented by traditional Argentinian asado (grilled meat), adding a cultural dimension to the experience.

Chapman noted that Capricorn Private Wealth continues to position itself as a leader in wealth management by aligning its brand with innovation, exclusivity and long-term value creation.

He added that introducing polo in such a setting sets a new standard for premium client engagement in Namibia.

La Muela Polo Estate founder Till Jeske, who also participated in the exhibition match, described the event as a stepping stone toward establishing polo locally, saying it opens opportunities to grow the sport while creating a platform that blends culture, business and destination experiences.
