Opinion –  Applause to NNN for appointing Nanuseb to Health Task Force

As a youth from the mighty Kunene Region, I would like to sincerely applaud our esteemed President, Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, for appointing my fellow youth and resident of our beloved town of Khorixas, Norman Maurice Nanuseb, to the Health Task Force.

This appointment is not only a clear demonstration that our President values and trusts the youth, but it also shows her commitment to ensuring regional representation. To us in Kunene, this appointment sends a powerful message: Kunene is not left behind.

Nanuseb’s journey is one of dedication and service. His hard work over the years—beginning as a volunteer with non-governmental organisations such as Pots of Hope and the Namibian Red Cross Society, and later qualifying and working as a registered nurse—has finally borne fruit.

I have personally worked alongside him as a Red Cross volunteer at the Khorixas office and can attest that he is a dedicated, caring, and hardworking individual. The President can be assured that she made the right choice, as Nanuseb will undoubtedly strengthen policy oversight and improve service delivery in the health sector. Having spent years caring for the fragile and the frail, this appointment now gives Mr. Nanuseb an opportunity to help close the fragile and frail gaps within our health system—and he is more than capable of doing so. The nature of nursing underscores the fact that it is both a profession and a calling. By appointing Nanuseb, President Nandi-Ndaitwah has demonstrated her care not only for the health sector, but for the nation as a whole.

Like myself, Mr. Nanuseb was born in Khorixas and attended Versteende Woud Primary School and Cornelius Goreseb High School. His roots and background assure us that he will not fail the nation when it comes to improving healthcare delivery. In addition to his nursing experience, Nanuseb holds further qualifications in Public Management from the Namibia University of Science and Technology, a Certificate in Safety and Health from the Business Management Training College in South Africa, and training in HIV/AIDS Management and Counselling from the University of Namibia.

This clearly shows that his appointment was carefully considered and based on merit—not merely to appease regional concerns. Nanuseb serve us as a local authority councillor too, time to serve the nation. On behalf of the youth of the mighty Kunene Region, as well as those from the non-governmental sector, we are immensely proud of Mr. Nanuseb’s appointment.

Once again, we applaud you, President Nandi-Ndaitwah, on behalf of thousands of others.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah, Omake, and Nanuseb—we know you. Start the engine.
