Kavejaruka Kozonguizi, a 32-year-old entrepreneur, is pushing boundaries with her passion for community focused solutions, youth development, and women’s empowerment.
The ambitious go-getter launched her transport business, Wheels Transit, focusing on school children, which has been running for 12 years. Kozonguizi began her journey into entrepreneurship whilst she was still in university.
“I started the transport business in 2014 while I was still at university. At the time, it was a side hustle, but one that I took very seriously,” she said. By using her people and community skills, Kozonguizi identified the community’s needs, a very valuable entrepreneurial trait that nurtures successful businesses.
The passionate entrepreneur said she noticed a clear gap in safe, reliable transport options for children, highlighting that, “Parents needed a service they could trust, and I believed that with the right systems, values, and care, I could offer a solution that truly made a difference.” Kozonguizi was not only interested in building a successful business; she also paid attention to her clients’ needs and provided them with safe, reliable solutions, which is where the business began. “I began by understanding parents’ needs, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, and offering a reliable service with limited capacity. Trust and consistency were my first priorities, and growth followed naturally through word of mouth,” she explained.
For the young entrepreneur, growing and evolving has always been part of the plan, besides facing scepticism and the need to constantly prove her capability.
“These challenges strengthened my resilience and determination,” she added.
Valencia Katjerungu, a parent, has been using Wheels Transit for almost three years, since 2024, when her son was five years old.
“What I loved the most about their service was how reliable and punctual they were, and how they always kept in touch with me. There were even days when my son forgot his shoes or jersey in the car, and they would immediately recognise it as his. That level of care and attention really meant a lot to me and made me feel at ease as a parent,” she said.
“I am currently still with Wheels Transit because they are not only reliable and punctual, but also very flexible. They cater for drop-offs to our children’s extracurricular activities, which makes a big difference for working parents like me. Wheels Transit’s business continues to grow, and so do the options and packages she offers, and this is all backed by her undeniable level of service, she added.”
Kozonguizi aspires to see her business evolve into a leading, highly trusted children’s transport service with strong systems, trained staff, and technology-driven safety measures.
She further highlighted that “The focus will remain on reliability, professionalism, and peace of mind for parents, while scaling the business in a controlled and responsible manner”.
For now, Wheels Transit operates only in Windhoek, though Kozonguizi hopes to expand her services to more areas as demand grows.
